NJCDC’s College Sendoff is Saturday, August 3!
July 19, 2024
For the past 10 years, we’ve held our College Sendoff every summer to recognize the hard work of Paterson high school graduates. This year, we’re excited to hold the event at our Rogers Meeting Center on Saturday, August 3! At our Tenth Annual College Sendoff, NJCDC and Paterson Public Schools will honor graduating Paterson high school students who are heading to four-year colleges. These students will be awarded tens of thousands of dollars in college scholarships at the event.
In a city where only 11% of adults have earned a bachelor's degree, going to a four-year college is especially noteworthy — and important to celebrate. Most of the students honored at the Sendoff will soon be first-generation college students!
Each and every day, NJCDC serves over 4,000 children, teens, and families through our cradle-to-college pipeline of programs and services — including lots of college readiness programming! In recent years, we’ve seen just how successful these programs are, as our students have gone on to Harvard, Dartmouth, Wesleyan University, the University of Miami, Georgetown University, and many other renowned colleges and universities. We feel it’s important to celebrate them and so many others on August 3.
Our College Sendoff is truly a testament to the hard work of Paterson youth. If you’d like to make a difference in the life of a Paterson student heading to college, please fill out our donation form, make an online gift, or email vtrawinski@njcdc.org. Your donation will directly impact the number of college scholarships we’re able to give to graduating high school students from Paterson, helping them on their journey to college — and beyond.
