On Thursday, July 11, NJCDC held another event marking our 30th Anniversary year with a memorable evening at Paterson’s historic Hinchliffe Stadium, one of the few remaining venues in the country that hosted Negro League baseball games. The celebration took place during a baseball game between the New Jersey Jackals and the Florence Y’alls. Many of our dedicated supporters and longstanding friends joined us for this special occasion, making it a night to remember!

This event was one of many as we celebrate NJCDC’s 30th anniversary year, which began on March 11. The evening kicked off with a tented pre-game reception on the field, where attendees enjoyed a delightful array of food and drinks. Despite the initial heat, a perfect breeze soon swept through, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The festive setting was filled with laughter and camaraderie as guests reminisced about NJCDC's journey and achievements over the past three decades, and shared many of their favorite memories.

One of the highlights of the evening was watching our Board Chair, and lifelong Patersonian, Martin Vergara throw out the first pitch. His participation added a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration. Adding to the fun, Jack (the Jackals mascot) made sure to greet all our guests, spreading joy and smiles.

This free event was our way of expressing gratitude to our community for their unwavering support over the years. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, as well as new ones, come together to celebrate our shared commitment to making a positive impact in Paterson.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and made the evening such a success. Your support continues to inspire us as we look forward to many more years of serving the community and creating opportunities for the residents of Paterson. Here's to another 30 years of making a difference together!
